Basecamp

Within a darkened gallery space the drone of swarming honey bees emits from six hive-like structures. The work Basecamp is a hybrid combination of man-made architectural elements and naturally occurring organic forms. Plywood constructions are assembled as interlocking stacks, which slotting into one another with individual slats coated with a prismatic reflective material which also features a hexagonal motif. Each structure reflects a glow from a carefully positioned light source.

Structures: 60cm, 160cm, 160cm to 100cm, 200cm, 200cm.
